wiggles and movers

My poor little monkey is really not herself today.  I think I forget just how awful a flu can make you feel until I see it work its way through my daughter.  She is doing better, but certainly not out of the woods.  She is so sleepy all of the time.  She pretty much only wants to sit with us and watch tv.  She'll have an occasional sip of water/gatorade and nibbles of applesauce and cheerios.  Sounds scrumptious.  Anyway, in watching tv today I noticed something odd.  What's with the grown men on children shows?

BTW, where did you get that pic of the Wiggles? Because the guy in the red shirt is not right. He is supposed to be Murray, a clean cut, sandy brown haired, guitar playing man. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go look for my dignity....

it's kinda creepy to me too.

haley has ALWAYS HATED the wiggles...

but she loves the mover guy with long hair. BECAUSE...he has LONG hair. She always likes guys that die their hair bright colors...mohawks...or have long hair. Yep...i'm in trouble.

Yeah...that's not Murray. That's actually Dan Zane. He does great music for kids.

As for the men...I appreciate their roles in my kids lives. Of all the male role models out there...these guys are quality men who genuinely love working with children. After working in children's ministry I've found that male volunteers are few and far between. Two of the reasons for this are the stereotypes that say it's only for women and the stigma of being classified as a possible pedophile just because you work with kids. I've had parents actually take their kids out of class where there's a male teacher (along with several helpers)because they believe such stereotypes. Yes, I know there are creeps out there...but I've seen them come in both genders.

Sorry. I'm off my soap box now.

I hope Emily feels better soon!
