pudding happens

when your friends are boys...

We went out to Temecula to visit our dear friends Joe and Alisha.  They have a boy close in age with Emily.   It was SO hot that we decided to take them to a park that had water rocks---basically boulders that have fountains coming out of them for the children.  Now, obviously, we didn't dress Emily for that, so we had to borrow some clothes and shoes.  (the first two pictures are our house---the makeover is the last shot)

Tough Day

I'm not going to lie people---I am having a TOUGH day and it is only 6:20 a.m.  I have had a glorious week off.  Emily and I were together so much this week.  Honestly, I haven't seen her this happy before.  It might just be a new stage we're entering....maybe it's just coincidence that she's in a better mood the same week I'm home, but I can't help but feel guilty that I am taking her back to daycare today.  I KNOW she is happy there too----she has so much fun with her friends and often cries when we pick her up because she doesn't want to leave, but I just feel so bad that I can't be with her.  I keep reminding myself of  the "pros"---that she is getting social experience that I can't give her at home, that I am fortunate to work in education where I get a lot of time off and that we give her "quality" time when we are with her, but right now, all I want to do is curl in a ball and cry.

Debbie Downer is now done....

Second verse, same as the first

Easter Egg Hunt #2....

When I was at the mall playground this week, I got an invitation to a church Easter Festival on Good Friday.  It was so well planned out.  They had so much stuff for the kiddos to do.  We were having a GREAT start.  Emily actually wanted out of my arms to go explore---we were hopeful.  They made an announcement for an egg hunt in Emily's age group.  We got a spot in the waiting zone before the egg hunt began.  Emily was still in a good mood, BUT they kept making a "last minute call" so we were there for a good 10 minutes telling her she couldn't pass the line.  Oh dear....it started to go downhill....here are some pics....
Who needs a chair when you can sit on your diaper bag?  Please note the yellow rope keeping her away from the eggs.
Once we got the clearance....she wasn't too interested in picking them up, but she watched me through her tears.
ALL DONE!
Is it time to go home?

Emily pictures GALORE

The most adorable Easter outfit ever....okay, so I am biased
I think they forgot to say cheese
Seriously?  She rocks.
Emily LOVES escalators.  She and Brian went up and down them a couple of times
Grandma Sally paid us a visit and took Emily to the park.
Auntie Holly called to find out what Emily was wearing and matched----Kidding of course
I think this is so cute.  Sally was pushing Emily from the back and Brian was jumping up to get that huge smile out of her....
FIRST PONYTAIL!
Emily and Ella.  I think Emily looks a lot like me here.....
Ella cruisin' and Emily marking the chair as "her" territory.
In case you can't read the sign, it says "toddler egg hunt"
Strolling with her snack cup---the only thing to cure her breakdown---see video below if you don't know what I am referring to.
This looks like an ad---maybe for the snack cup.
Hailey joined us (along with her parents and brother) for the egg hunt.  Emily didn't care about her basket, so Hailey held it for her.  She didn't want to give it up though.
Ahh....finally, Emily likes the eggs!
