FIRST HAIR CUT!!!

When Emily was born I did not expect to see so much hair on her precious little head.  She's 19 months now and we decided perhaps it was time for a little touch up.  You'll notice we didn't take too much length off---that was my decision.  I love her long hair---so I didn't want to see it drastically cut.  The lady was GREAT with Emily.  She was less than excited to be there.  The first five minutes in the chair were filled with great amount of screaming, but Dena didn't shudder, she kept trying to offer things to help her----Watching Elmo and eating a "nack" (snack) helped.

First shot--Length was way longer in the back....

After the hair cut.  The lady even put this adorable flower in her hair.  At this point, Emily was sad that it was over...

This time of year

I typically love this time of year work wise....

The students are excited because summer is near.  We're excited because we know a break is near.  The students seem a bit more jovial, but this year hasn't been as fun as usual.

Kids are getting in trouble left and right.  Suspensions are taking place with literally two days of school left.  I just don't get what they are thinking!

Today, I found out that four of my kiddos are not going to walk at graduation.  Really not the most fun of conversations to have with families.  One of these students I "mentored" for the past year.  I'm really quite bummed he wasn't able to make it.  He was so unbelievably sad.  Blah.

So, I guess I'll just have to drown my sorrows in some chips and salsa and some sort of mexican cuisine.

Tuesday Blues....

Today was a horrible day for my husband.....

Pro: He managed to make it through another round of job cuts.

Con: He "lost" a lot of his friends in the process.  HALF of his department is gone....people...HALF!

He'll no longer get every other Friday off either---boo!  It was such a great day for Emily to have with her daddy.  Not to mention it saved us some money from daycare.

Anyway, it's very bittersweet.  We are glad he has a job, but the cuts were so hard on us, I can only imagine how difficult it is for people that actually lost their job today.
